  • The instructors at Reding Martial Arts have been passionate about teaching for over 20 years. We constantly improve our skills in a variety of disciplines in order to share them with our students.

  • Mark Reding

    Owner, Head Professor

    • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: 1st Degree Black Belt (2015)
    • American Kenpo Karate: 7th Degree Black Belt (2015)
    • Jeet Kune Do: Full Instructor (2013)
    • Muay Thai: Certified Instructor (2011)
    • Shorin Ryu Karate: 1st degree black belt (1995)

    In 1991 at the age of 13, Mark started training in the martial arts under an instructor named Mike Woodson where he earned his 1st degree black belt in Shorin-Ryu Karate in 1995. In 1994, Mark started his training in American Kenpo Karate under Tim Bullot where he earned his first degree black belt in 1999. Mark became a senior professor of the arts by earning his seventh degree black belt in 2015. In 1996, Mark followed his dream of teaching others the art, and opened his own school. In 1999 Mark began his training in Jeet Kune Do Concepts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Jack McVicker. Mark earned his Phase I Instructorship in 2004. In 2012 Mark earned his black belt professorship in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under James Brown. In 2015 Mark earned his 1st degree black belt in BJJ, and continues to train with James Brown and Octavio Couto. In 2017 Mark opened a second academy in Denton called Reding Martial Arts "East Side".

  • Charlie Collier

    Assistant Instructor

    Charlie Collier has been training martial arts since 2002. He holds a first degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Reding Martial Arts, and a full instructorship in Jeet Kune Do concepts, also under Reding Martial Arts. Charlie is the head coach of the adult Jeet Kune Do classes, and assistant coach to the kids Karate and Jiu Jitsu classes.

  • Larry Sutherland

    Assistant Instructor

    Coach Larry Sutherland, RMA BJJ Brown Belt, is the Assistant Instructor of our Teens BJJ, Kids BJJ, and Masters BJJ Classes. Coach Larry began training in BJJ in 2006. As a U.S. Army Combat Veteran, Coach Larry also is also actively involved with the Mission22 and the We Defy Foundation organizations. Coach Larry is also the Assistant Coach, and Active Member, of the RBJJ Competition Team.

  • David Garcia

    Assistant Instructor

    Coach David Garcia, RMA BJJ Brown Belt, is the Head Instructor of our NoGi BJJ Classes. Coach David began training in BJJ in 2009. Coach David is also a member, of the RBJJ Competition Team.

  • Randy Manning

    Assistant Instructor

    Coach Randy Manning, RMA BJJ brown belt, is the instructor for the fundamentals jiu jitsu class. Randy started grappling in 2004 for Creekview high school wrestling; he transitioned to jiu jitsu in 2007 and has been training ever since. Coach Randy is a licensed massage therapist and is currently working on his Kinesiology degree at TWU.

  • Ted Fisher

    Assistant Instructor

    Coach Ted Fisher, RMA BJJ Purple Belt, is the Assistant Instructor of our Kids BJJ Classes. Coach Ted began training in the Arts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Jeet Kune Do in 2011. As a U.S. Air Force Veteran, Coach Ted also is also actively involved with the Mission22 and the We Defy Foundation organizations. Coach Ted is also an active member, of the RBJJ Competition Team.

  • Josh Faubion

    Assistant Instructor

    Coach Josh Faubion, RMA BJJ Blue Belt, is the Assistant Instructor of our Kids BJJ Classes. Coach Josh began training in the Arts of Brazilian Jiu JItsu and Jeet Kune Do in 2013.

  • Brandon Hamby

    Assistant Instructor

    Brandon Hamby, 2nd degree black belt in American Kenpo Karate, is the Instructor of the Adult Kenpo Class. Brandon began training in the Art of American Kenpo Karate in 2011. Brandon is an active member in the International Kenpo Karate Academies (IKKA).
